DAKS are very proud to be sponsors of the Pony Club Mounted Games championship at the Royal WindsorHorse Show. The show takes place annually in May and we are honoured to be in our 43rd consecutive year of sponsorship and one of the longest serving sponsors at the Show.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show was first staged in 1943 to help raise funds for the War effort. It has continued to run every year since and is now the only show in the UK to host international competitions in Show Jumping, Dressage, Driving and Endurance.

The Pony Club is the world’s largest equestrian youth organisation for young people interested in ponies and riding, with over 30,000 members in the UK alone. Mounted Games is a team sport that combines a love of ponies and friends with various races. Teams of four or five riders and ponies take part in a series of exciting and exhilarating races that involve a mix of turns, handovers, skill, vaulting and galloping against other teams. The more advanced teams from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland compete at Windsor.  This year’s winners were Wales who were presented with the winning trophy by the Earl of Wessex on Sunday 15th May.

This year was particularly special as it was the Platinum Jubilee year and featured a new Jubilee game. The Pony Club also took part in the spectacular evening celebration “A Gallop Through History” and was attended by HM The Queen on the Sunday evening.
