Responsible to: Head of Design/Creative Director
Working Hours: 9.00 am to 5.15 pm — Monday to Friday
BA or equivalent level of qualification in fashion/design.
Experience and understanding of designing and developing men’s and women’s accessories collections.
Adobe software (photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc), Microsoft Office, drawing, graphic design, excellent presentation skills, excellent team player in a design team.
As an important part of our design team, the requirement is to produce seasonal accessory ranges for our licensees and suppliers with clear and accurate guidelines, with the collaboration of our Head of Design and Creative Director.
Work with the existing suppliers to produce innovative and commercial accessories collections in line with the brand’s handwriting.
Keeping close contact with the supplier throughout the development process and ensure delivery dates are meet.
Work within the design team to develop and produce a seasonal concept to include themes, mood boards suitable for the accessory collection.
Produce seasonal presentations for an individual licensing category including bags and small leather goods.
Communicate with the design team weekly.
Ensure that any additional design requests are met.
Understand the brand history.
Follow our DAKS manual/protocol and provide all design work with accuracy.
Prepare and attend licensee meetings giving clear direction to our licensees. Understand the market requirements and support licensees with any queries or presentation requests.
Presentation of seasonal accessories collection for men’s and womenswear at seasonal merchandise meeting.
The successful applicant must have a keen interest in fashion, particularly in the luxury sector and demonstrate a flare for accessories. Pro-active and creative, using initiative to make decisions when necessary. Ability to work independently with a strong understanding of our history and customer along with future fashion trends suitable to the business. Ability to work to a critical path and to design products with an awareness of price architecture, margins and selling prices.
